Review :

The name “Porsche” in itself , demands attention. With a majestic touch to its body and  magnificent engine technology, Porsche vehicles have set the automobile industry alight. A Porsche, carries a high status and from the very beginning, it has known nothing but associations with the best. The SUVs which the Porsche release, lures the public, with not just an attractive mechanical device, but with the prospect of owning one of societies most revered products on the road. The Cayenne, has taken a bit of time to get established, but with such an ingenious and creative think tank behind its creation, its popularity has increased. It is a fine form of an SUV, starting with more cargo space than the typical sedan, more than enough capability for light off-highway use and impressive towing capacity. 2004, saw the release of the V6 model and as always, Porsche is out with another brand, sure to get the adrenaline pumping.

For, 2005 a number of spectacular alterations have been made, none more enticing than a  a 6-speed manual transmission. Indeed past models have had a significance of their own, but when the stage light hits the V8, you truly begin to observe a spectacular show.  All  Cayenne’s are fast and satisfying, but for an SUV which stands out, you ought to be seated in the V8 models. Upon acceleration, the feel one gets of the Cayenne, places it in a league of its own. There exists a unique hospitality in the Cayenne, with minimum stress to the driver, the vehicle is equipped with a number of tools, geared to produce a minimal fuss, while on the drive,  electronics do the heavy lifting, and all that is left is to  simply, lightly, modulate the throttle or brake in low range. Cayennes are tuned to suit, in any sort of  situation, with a complete assurance of classic performance,  Porsche's assertion  is that the Cayenne  has more off-road capability than the BMW X5 or Mercedes M-Class, which does speak volumes of their confidence in this brand. In fact an exemplary aspect of the Cayenne is the  all-wheel-drive system, which has been enhanced by Porsche  with a standard low range for real off-roading and a lock for the center differential. This system can also vary the  amount of engine power distributed to the front and rear wheels, with  a default power split of 38-percent front and  62-percent rear. Until 2005, the Cayenne was the only Porsche ever built without a manual gearbox (the Tiptronic automatic remains an option). The manual is also equipped with an off-road feature called Porsche Drive-Off Assistant, which allows a driver to easily set the Cayenne in motion on steep grades; the system automatically maintains brake pressure when the brake pedal is released, then releases the brakes once the driver begins let out the clutch pedal.

The standard Cayenne's narrow-angle 3.2-liter V6 engine, features  variable timing for both the intake and exhaust valves for an impressive combination of smooth idling, good low-end torque and free-revving high-end horsepower. It produces an impressive  247 horsepower and 250 pound-feet of torque, making it a fair exponent of pace and power.

However, one cannot deny the drastic difference , contained  in the V8s,  the  4.5-liter engine makes 340 horsepower at 6000 rpm and 310 pound-feet of torque between 2500 and 5500 rpm, placing it, perhaps at the top most of the SUV family. It is a tribute to Porsche’s supremacy and appeal, beaming with a sense of absolute uniqueness. V8s are undoubtedly in a class of its own, offering much more than just premium acceleration and speed on the drive. Fuel economy, however is as expected not the greatest in this case.

The engineering and application of physics seen here, simply leave us all in awe and makes evident the reasons for the high prices of the Porches.

The choice of which type suits you, is a teaser. Obviously , you wouldn’t be going for a Porsche if It wasn’t within your budget, but once you have chosen to go for it, there is a teasing a prospect. Porsche, is not just a car, it is the pinnacle of the industry. Whatever you choose, the societal reactions, are definitely a boost to morale. However, your type of craving, should decide your best option.
