The 2009 Cadillac Escalade Hybrid has arrived at Cadillac of Las Vegas
and is available for consumer purchase. The Escalade Hybrid is the
world's first hybrid in the full-size luxury SUV market. It delivers
more than a 50-percent improvement in fuel economy in city driving –
all while delivering the same distinctive style, features and full-size
capability that have made the Escalade an icon.
“We are very excited to offer the Escalade Hybrid to our
customers,” said Sebastian Valente, General Manager of Cadillac of Las
Vegas. “Consumers will be able to save on fuel and still enjoy the
benefits of a full-size luxury SUV.”
The Escalade Hybrid’s innovative, fuel-saving 2-Mode Hybrid system
allows it to return exceptional fuel economy, achieving an EPA
estimated 20MPG in the city and 21MPG on the highway. In city driving,
this advanced hybrid power system allows the Escalade Hybrid to operate
on electricity alone. As additional speed and power is demanded, the
system transitions smoothly to run from the electric motors and
combustion engine simultaneously.
At the heart of the Escalade Hybrid is a 332 horsepower V8 engine
that generates 367 lb-ft of torque at 4,100 rpm. It delivers up to
5,800 pounds of usable towing capacity on 2WD models and 5,600 pounds
on 4WD models.
Escalade Hybrid is available in two colors, Ebony and Cashmere.
Standard features include a distinctive instrument panel; gauges with
white needles and blue light inlays with continuously lit, white-LED
backlighting; Nuance leather-covered seats; leather-covered door
trim and center console; and a power-assisted rear liftgate that opens
and closes with the touch of a button.
