The Scion xD returns for 2009 with little change. Based on the Yaris platform, the xD features a 1.8L four-cylinder engine that generates 128 horsepower and 125 lb-ft of torque. The engine is mated to either a five-speed manual transmission or a four-speed automatic with sequential shifting. As with other Scion models, the xD comes equipped "mono spec" so consumers may select from a number of options to customize the vehicle's interior and exterior to suit their personal preferences. Standard features on the xD include a 160-watt Pioneer audio system, remote keyless entry, tire pressure mentoring system and front seat-mounted airbags. A Special Edition Package is also available and includes DAMD body kit, TRD lowering kit, rear spoiler and wheel covers.
