For 2009, Pontiac's crossover SUV is carried over with few changes. Torrent continues to be offered in four models--Base and GXP trims, both available in FWD and AWD configurations. The Torrent Base model comes equipped with a 185-hp 3.4L V6 engine coupled to a five-speed automatic transmission, while the GXP boasts a 264-hp 3.6L V6 engine matted to a six-speed automatic transmission. Safety equipment on the Torrent includes a rollover sensor, StabliTrak, tire pressure monitoring system, and a theft-deterrent alarm. GXP upgrades include a stiffer suspension, unique interior trim enhancements, polished Forged Aluminum wheels, and sportier exterior treatments. A Sun and Sound Package and navigation system are optional.
