Kia Motors America said its redesigned 2006 Rio sedan will start at $11,110, including destination, and its new Rio5 hatchback will be priced from $14,040.
The increase in sticker on the Rio sedan is a modest $375, despite a raft of improvements, including a 110-horsepower, DOHC, 1.6-liter, four-cylinder engine that is more powerful and provides up to 20-percent better fuel economy. The ^05 Rio sedan started at $10,735, including destination.

The Rio5 is a five-door hatchback with a sportier profile than last year^s Rio Cinco wagon. It comes in a single SX trim level and is well equipped, with standard air conditioning, AM/FM stereo with CD, tilt steering column, 15-inch tires and alloy wheels, foglamps, rear spoiler, leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift lever and metal pedals.
All models can be fitted with either a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic transmission.
