The 2006 Audi A6 Avant, the German automaker^s moniker for station wagon, is on sale now with a base price of $47,590, including a $720 destination charge.
The A6 is the first Avant to be offered with an optional $450 power tailgate that opens and closes with the push of a button. Standard equipment includes a leather interior with 12-way power heated front seats and dual-zone climate control. Options include a $2,300 adaptive air suspension, $2,100 adaptive cruise control, $200 heated steering wheel, and $250 manual rear and side window sunshades.
The A6 Avant has a standard 3.2 FSI V6 that produces 255 horsepower and 243 pound-feet of torque, mated to a six-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission.
The cargo area has a rail system built into the floor to secure cargo.
