For the Michigan chapter of the American Cancer Society^s third annual Cattle Barons^ Ball, Ford will be auctioning off one of its GT supercars and contribute the proceeds to cancer research.
This particular GT will be distinguished from its kin by a classic Sonic Blue finish trimmed with Centennial White racing stripes, as well as BBS forged-aluminum wheels, red-painted brake calipers, and a McIntosh Audiophile AM/FM stereo system with a CD player.
The Ford GT can accelerate from zero to 60 in 3.5 seconds and achieve a top speed in excess of 200 mph. The vehicle to be auctioned retails for $156,595.
The auction winner will also receive two die-cast GT models autographed by both Bill Ford and Camilo Pardo, the vehicle^s designer.
The ball will take place this year on Saturday, September 10 at the Michigan State Fairgrounds; tickets cost $200 each. Ford co-sponsors the event with the American Cancer Society.
